چکیده

In the plane, we study the transform R f of integrating a unknown function f over circles centered at a given curve . This is a simplified model of SAR, when the radar is not directed but has other applications, like thermoacoustic tomography, for example. We study the problem of recovering the wave front set WF.f /. If the visible singularities of f hit once, we show that WF.f / cannot be recovered in, i.e., the artifacts cannot be resolved. If D @ ̋ is the boundary of a strictly convex domain ̋, we show that this is still true. On the other hand, in the latter case, if f is known a priori to have singularities in a compact set, then we show that one can recover WF.f j ̋/, and moreover, this can be done in a simple explicit way, using backpropagation for the wave equation.

Flight Path Angle Steering with Lambert Guidance Reference

In this paper a new guidance technique for ballistic missiles and launch vehicles is proposed. Generally the Lambert guidance is used to generate missile nominal (correlated) parameters through powered flight to put it in a ballistic flight path. Because of uncertainties and undesired factors, the nominal position and velocity obtained by Lambert technique need to be followed in actual flight. ...

Effects of Flight Dynamics on Performance of One Axis Gimbal System, Considering Disturbance Torques

The gimbal stabilization mechanism system is used to provide the stability to an object mounted on the gimbal by isolating it from the base angular motion and vibration. In this paper the model of one axis gimbal system with dynamics flying object is introduced. The gimbal torque relationships are obtained using Newton’s second law equation on the assumption that gimbal is rigid body. The syste...

Processing time of contour integration: the role of colour, contrast, and curvature.

We investigated the temporal properties of the red - green, blue-yellow, and luminance mechanisms in a contour-integration task which required the linking of orientation across space to detect a 'path'. Reaction times were obtained for simple detection of the stimulus regardless of the presence of a path, and for path detection measured by a yes/no procedure with path and no-path stimuli random...

Flying Curved Approaches and Missed Approaches: 3-D Display Trials Onboard a Light Aircraft

Cockpit displays that enhance situational awareness in light aircraft are becoming feasible through the rapid development of enabling technologies including differential GPS, inexpensive computers, and ruggedized color LCD panels. A prototype glass cockpit system was developed and used to explore implementation and operational issues through flight testing. The display provided an “out the wind...

Is precise discrimination of low level motion needed for heading discrimination?

Normal observers judge heading well both when moving in a straight line and when moving along a curved path. Judgments of curved path motion require depth variations in the scene while judgments of straight line heading (pure translation) do not. Here we show that a stroke patient who is impaired in low level 2D motion discrimination tasks and cannot accurately judge 3D structure from motion ca...
